VNA OF LI NAMED TO 2009 HOMECARE ELITE AS A TOP HOME HEALTH CARE PROVIDER
The Visiting Nurse Association of Long Island has been named to the prestigious 2009 HomeCare Elite, a compilation of the top-performing home health agencies in the United States. This annual review identifies the top 25 percent of agencies and further highlights the top 100 and top 500 agencies overall. Agencies are ranked by an analysis of performance measures in quality outcomes, quality improvement and financial performance.

The Visiting Nurse Association of Long Island (VNA of LI) was recently named as the ‘Best Home Health Care Agency’ by Long Island Business News (LIBN) newspaper. LIBN’s ‘Best of Long Island Business 2008’ Reader’s Poll, which pulled over 20,000 votes, ranked the VNA of LI as the “Best” within its Home Health Care Agency category.

The Visiting Nurse Association of Long Island's Twelfth Annual Charity Golf Classic held in June was a great success thanks to the much appreciated help and support we received from our event honoree Andrew Fenton, President of Long Island Business Solutions, colleagues, friends and community minded volunteers.

Please join us for the Visting Nurse Association of Long Island's (VNA of LI) Seventh Annual Bridgid Noreen Fife Memorial Luncheon to be held on November 18th, 2009 at Antun's Restaurant in Queens, NY. The luncheon will honor John Drobny, Direct of Security Program Managment for The Port Authority of NY and NJ. The event will raise vital support for the VNA of LI's Maternal Child Health services and increase awareness for Sudden Infant Death Syndrome.

ROSLYN SAVINGS FOUNDATION SHAPES THE FUTURE
The Roslyn Savings Foundation is helping to shape the future of the VNA of LI, our clients and their families through their ongoing support and commitment to our organization. A 2009 grant from the foundation, earmarked for our Telehealth Services, assists the VNA of LI in focusing on health promotion, disease prevention, diagnosis, consultation, education and therapy. By monitoring a client's condition through this valued servoce,it successfully brings about measurable and sustainable improvements in client safety, costs and overall quality of care.
LONG ISLAND FUND FOR WOMEN AND GIRLS
LENDS HELPING HAND
The Visiting Nurse Association of Long Island was awarded a grant from the Long Island Fund For Women & Girls to fund the Maternal Child Health Services in 2009. This service provides vital home care to the community's underserved maternal child population.
The Long Island Fund for Women and Girls (LIFWG) is a charitable organization that funds programs that improve the lives of women and girls, highlights and addresses women's issues, and develops women's philanthropy.

The Visiting Nurse Association of Long Island (VNA of LI) has received financial support from the United Way of Long Island and the Great Neck Community Fund. The United Way of Long Island, together with community partners, is committed to changing lives on Long Island by investing in improving access to health care, supporting children and youth, reducing hunger and assisting neighbors in need. The Great Neck Community Fund supports non-profit agencies that contribute to the health and welfare of the total community.
This support allows the VNA of LI to continue its important work of providing critically needed home health and community based services that enhance quality of life for clients and their families. We are extremely grateful for their commitment to supporting programs and services that are vital to the sustained health and well being of all Long Islanders.
VNA OF LI ALIGNS WITH NASSAU COUNTY
EXECUTIVE SUOZZI'S HEALTHY NASSAU PROGRAM
The Visiting Nurse Association of Long Island (VNA of LI) has aligned with Nassau County Executive Tom Suozzi in support of the Health Nassau Program which is committed to making Nassau the healthiest county in the United States by the year 2020. As a committed advocate of achieving and maintaining optimal health, the VNA of LI has been delivering monthly presentations at Roosevelt Field Mall that focus on important health related topics such as "Health Hearts" and how to make better lifestyle choices which can reduce risk of heart attach and stroke; "Portion Control" and "Nutrition and Weight Control" which focus on how to control weight through portion control; and "Childhood Obesity" which addresses this most serious issue which face our nation's children.
