![]() NOTICE TO PUBLICThe Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) conducts unannounced accreditation surveys of the Visiting Nurse Association of Long Island, Inc. The purpose of the surveys is to evaluate the organization’s compliance with nationally established Joint Commission standards. The survey results are used to determine whether, and the conditions under which, accreditation should be awarded to the organization. Joint Commission standards deal with organization quality, safety-of-care issues, and the safety of the environment in which care is provided. If you have any concerns or questions about the quality of care or safety provided by this agency, please contact the agency administrator, Orael M. Keenan, at 516-739-1270, extension 203. If your concerns regarding quality of care or safety have not been addressed by the Visiting Nurse Association of Long Island, Inc., you may forward your complaint to Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) or other federal or state agencies having oversight responsibilities for health care organizations. If you concerns cannot be resolved thru the agency, you are encouraged to contact the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations.
