The Joint Commission is an organization that provides accreditation services to health care organizations. The Joint Commission conducts unannounced accreditation surveys of Visiting Nurse Association of Long Island, Inc. The purpose of the surveys is to evaluate the organization’s compliance with nationally established Joint Commission standards. The survey results are used to determine whether, and the conditions under which, accreditation should be awarded to the organization. Joint Commission standards deal with organization quality, safety-of-care issues, and the safety of the environment in which care is provided.
If you have any concerns or questions about the quality of care or safety provided by this agency, please contact the agency administrator at 516-739-1270 extension 203. If your concerns regarding quality of care or safety have not been addressed by the Visiting Nurse Association of Long Island, Inc., you may forward your complaint to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) or other federal or state agencies having oversight responsibilities for health care organizations. If your concerns cannot be resolved through the agency, you are encouraged to contact the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations.
